Our founder is a California and Washington state medically certified interpreter, she has been interpreting since 1989 in medical/legal/technical settings for the worker’s compensation and educational fields, for unemployment insurance hearings and social security hearings.
She attended UCLA and has completed several specialized trainings for simultaneous, consecutive and sight translation and interpreting. She has earned awards from LAUSD for excellence in interpreting and various commendations from independent entities such as The Los Angeles Battered Women’s Shelter.
She is originally from Ecuador, South America. She came to the United States at age 9. Without speaking a word of English she took on the new country and conquered its challenges, this experience formed her interest in languages and travel. She quickly learned English and subsequently French.
While in college she volunteered to interpret for a psychiatric session and found it extremely rewarding. After working as a freelance interpreter for a few years she realized the need for an interpreting service which would focus on the needs of her community and those of the injured worker.
She founded On Time Interpreting, Inc., in 1989 which specializes in the needs of the worker’s compensation field and has continued to provide personalized service for the past 26 years.
She lives in Los Angeles and when she is not busy attending marketing meetings and interpreting, she likes to practice her French and travel when possible.
